S.F. Reggae Rockers

Frankie C

Frank says musically he’s inspired by anything Beatlesque Motown. “Harmonies, guitars, great lyrics....soul”.

Frank Castro - Lead Vocals & Lead Guitar

Frank has played all kinds of music...Rock, Blues, R&B, Motown, Modern and now Reggae. It is the heavy groove and the ability to send a message that inspires him to play Reggae. As the songwriter for many of Red Di's original songs, Frank's songwriting ideas come from his life experiences and observations and he says the whole process comes very easily to him.

For example, he took one of his son’s poems and incorporated it into an original called God’s Children. Another original song is Skeletons in the Closet, reflecting his thoughts on a political world. An anthem song for young and old is Go For It. When commissioned by the organizers for the 1999 Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide Conference & Showcase to write a song based on the conference theme of One World - One Rhythm, Frank more than delivered. A song by that name is one of ten tracks on the new Red Di CD Gwaan True. Frank was also one of several Reggae artists featured on the RAW99 Songwriter Panel - "Conscious Lyrics".

In the past several years the band has grown up musically and has cultured all those elements that Reggae music is best known for - danceable rhythm, great vibes, and lyrics with a message. Getting a message of life, hope, and possibilities out to their fans is the goal of this band. The leadership of Red Di's lead singer and lead guitarist has been one of the reasons the band has been successful in doing this. To know Frank as a musician is to know him personally as an inspirational and very talented friend. There is no difference.
